Erik ten Hag praises Man Utd forward after Victory game
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was full of praise for Anthony Martial following the club's 4-1 win over Melbourne Victory today.
The Frenchman recently scored in the 4-0 friendly triumph over Liverpool. He managed to replicate the feat against the Australian A-League side.
Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said that Martial 'can come back even better' if he has the right focus and motivation ahead of the new season.
He said: "I’m sure he can come back even better. I think when he has the right focus and the right motivation and he works hard he will have production because he is a good player."
Martial was on the fringes of the Red Devils squad last season, and he was loaned out to Sevilla during the January transfer window.
His temporary stint was far from successful, and there have since been suggestions that he could be loaned out or sold permanently.
However, he has recently excelled in pre-season, and now has the chance to establish himself as a key player under the new manager.
