Chelsea make final decision on Cristiano Ronaldo
Chelsea are unlikely to sign Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo during the ongoing transfer window, The Guardian claim.
The Portugal international currently has a year left on his United contract, but appears keen on moving on to play Champions League football.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly recently held discussions with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes, but a transfer seems unlikely to happen.
Thomas Tuchel is keen on working with a more fluid and versatile attack, and does not believe Ronaldo would fit into the plans.
Meanwhile, the German tactician is also comfortable with his striking options after the recent purchase of Raheem Sterling.
Sterling is seen as a number nine by Tuchel, and there is also competition from Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Armando Broja.
Broja has been linked with West Ham United in recent weeks, but Tuchel may consider keeping him in his squad for next season.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo will be hoping for offers from elsewhere. Bayern Munich could still be an option if Robert Lewandowski leaves them.
