Chelsea readying bid for Leicester City star

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Leicester City centre-back Wesley Fofana after missing out on Jules Kounde.

The Blues were keen on landing the services of Kounde last week, but their efforts were in vain as Barcelona hijacked their move.

The west London giants have now turned their focus to landing Fofana from the Foxes, but he is unlikely to come on the cheap.

The French ace spent most of last season on the sidelines with a leg break, but he is still an indispensable figure for the Foxes.

The Foxes were happy to extend his stay until June 2027 in March this year, and they are bound to command a huge transfer fee.

He is currently valued at around £36 million by Transfermarkt, but the Foxes could command as much as £80m for his services.

Chelsea are not shy from spending big. They have done so for their attack, and could make a similar outlay to prise away Fofana.
