Everton to make double swoop on Chelsea?

Everton manager Frank Lampard hopes to raid his former club with a double move for Ross Barkley and Billy Gilmour. Barkley has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea, meanwhile Scottish international Gilmour is ready to leave Stamford Bridge for regular first-team football after a loan spell with Norwich City last campaign.

According to numerous reports this morning, Chelsea are ready to sell the midfield duo and Everton are preparing a bid of £18 million to sign the duo. Barkley's career has gone downhill since departing Goodison Park in 2018, and the 28-year-old is tempted by a return to his former club.

Meanwhile Gilmour believes that Frank Lampard can help his own career develop having admitted his chances of playing regularly undert Thomas Tuchel are very unlikely.

Everton manager Frank Lampard is still unsure about how much money he will be able to spend this summer, but the sale of Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur is likely to bankroll a big chunk of a move for the Chelsea midfield duo. 

A deal for Gilmour could be announced as soon as next week.
