Alex Telles to move to Sevilla

Manchester United have agreed to let Alex Telles leave the club on loan for Spanish giants Sevilla. The defender has fallen out of favour since the arrival of Erik ten Haag at United, and now will spend the upcoming campaign in La Liga. United will receive approximately 300,000 euros for the duration of the defender's loan spell.

The Brazilian had been signed to compete with Luke Shaw for the left-back berth at United, but has failed to dislodge the England international on a regular basis. Shaw has been in excellent form for both club and country, leaving Telles reduced to a few substitute appearances in recent times.

With Tyrell Malacia having arrived at Old Trafford, Telles' time on the field is likely to be even more significantly reduced in the coming months, as the Dutchman is Ten Haag's first signing since his arrival from Ajax.

Sevilla have struggled in pre-season friendlies, and showed their own defensive frailties in a 6-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Emirates Cup last week. Sevilla will also have the first-option to sign the player after the loan period.
