Chelsea quoted fee to sign Denzel Dumfries

Chelsea have been told to pay around £42m to prise away Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan this summer.

The Blues are determined to bolster their backline, and have already signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.

Meanwhile, they also have an agreement to land defender Marc Cucurella, and the spending is set to continue.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Blues have opened talks with the Nerazzurri to sign Dumfries this summer.

Their opening bid of £25m was rejected by the Serie A giants, and they want at least £42m to part ways with the player.

Inter need funds to balance their books, but they are also determined to get the right price for the Netherlands star.

Hence, they are not willing to provide any discounts and the onus is on the Blues to make an improved transfer offer.

Dumfries would be an excellent addition for the Blues in the right wing-back positions with his added creativity.

Reece James could play in the back three for Chelsea next term when Dumfries is picked in the starting line-up.
