Chelsea working to sign Italian midfield sensation

Chelsea are working closely to sign Inter Milan midfield sensation Cesare Casadei, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The west London giants have been ultra busy over the past 24 hours with the signings of Gabriel Slonina and Carney Chukwuemeka.

The Blues are also expected to confirm the purchase of Marc Cucurella, and it could be followed by several more signings.

Earlier last month, the club failed with an opening bid of £6m for Casadei and they are prepared to try again for him.

The Nerazzurri value the 19-year-old highly, but they could be tempted to sell him if they receive a significant offer.

A package of around £25m would seriously test their resolve. Anything less, they are due to demand a buy-back clause.

It remains to be seen whether the Blues are willing to pay big for a player that has yet to make his first-team debut.

Casadei bagged 16 goals and five assists from 39 outings for Inter's Primavera side (Under-19s) last season.
