Thomas Tuchel responds to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang links
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has distanced himself from the ongoing links with Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international left the Gunners midway through the previous campaign. He was impressive for Barcelona with 13 goals.
After just six months, he has been linked with a possible exit, considering the Catalan giants have added Robert Lewandowski to their ranks.
Chelsea are known to have made an enquiry, but Tuchel has dismissed the speculation by saying: "I would be interested in the 79 goals actually."
"But I will not comment on Auba to Chelsea links."
Tuchel previously managed Aubameyang for a few seasons at Borussia Dortmund. The striker netted 79 goals under his guidance.
The German continues to hold a good relationship with Aubameyang, but a reunion seems unlikely to happen in the current summer.
The 33-year-old is determined to continue with the Catalan giants while manager Xavi Hernandez also wants to keep him at the club.
The Spanish tactician believes Aubameyang and Lewandowski can work in tandem, though the former's minutes could be reduced this term.
