Man Utd have held talks to sign Spanish striker
Manchester United have held talks with Atletico Madrid over the potential transfer of Alvaro Morata, according to The Athletic.
The Red Devils are desperate to bring in a new striker before the transfer deadline, and are considering multiple options.
They recently pulled out of talks for Marko Arnautovic, but are still looking at multiple names in the transfer market.
Among those is Morata. The Spaniard is available for €35m, but could also be signed on a season-long loan agreement.
Talks have been held between United and Atletico, but it is claimed that Morata will command a significant salary.
The Spaniard was previously unsuccessful with Chelsea in the Premier League, bagging just 24 goals from 72 games.
There has not been any improvement in his goal to game ratio since then, and United's interest comes as a big surprise.
United could be better off looking at alternative targets. Sasa Kalajdzic would be a more lucrative signing at €25m.
The Austrian has netted 22 Bundesliga goals over the past two seasons despite missing six months with a shoulder injury.
