Everton and Southampton tracking Viktor Gyokeres
Coventry City and Sweden international striker Viktor Gyokeres is a target for Everton and Southampton, as both Premier League sides have tabled offers for the 24-year-old versatile forward. Gyokeres caught the eye in a debut campaign season for Coventry City last year, scoring 18 goals in 47 games, and his potential suitors both hope that the 6 foot 2 striker will continue those goalscoring feats in the Premier League.
Gyokeres has been somewhat of a journeyman despite being only 24-years-old, having a spall in his home country with IF Brommapojkarna prior to moving to England with Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion. He played no games for the club, before a loan spell with German side St Pauli followed, and then a short loan spell with Swansea City. In 2021, Coventry opted to sign the player on loan, before making their acquisition permanent in the summer.
Everton are seeking new strikers due to the injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, while Southampton have a handful of strikers to choose from in Sekou Mara, Che Adams and Adam Armstrong. Armstrong has so far played both games for the club this season.
