Man Utd in advanced talks for Barcelona defender

Manchester United are in advanced negotiations with Barcelona over Sergino Dest, according to Sport.

The Red Devils are keen on pursuing a new right-back this summer, and Dest is one of the top names on their radar.

The United States international knows Erik ten Hag from their time at Ajax, and a reunion could be on the cards.

As per Sport, United and Barcelona have entered final negotiations and a fee could be agreed in the coming days.

United will need to pay €20m outright for the player, and may need to be fast, considering there could be competition.

Chelsea are also keen admirers of the former Ajax graduate. They were heavily linked with him earlier this summer.

Despite committing Cesar Azpilicueta to a new long-term deal, the Blues have not ruled out a move for the 21-year-old.

Dest was reluctant to leave Barcelona this summer, but has changed his decision after falling out-of-favour under Xavi.

He was left out of the matchday squad to face Rayo Vallecano last weekend.
