Brazilian star turns down move to Manchester United

Cunha rejects Manchester United transfer

Atletico Madrid striker Matheus Cunha has turned down a move to Manchester United this summer, according to AS.

The Red Devils recently opened talks with the player's representatives with a view to finalising a possible transfer.

However, their efforts have been in vain. Cunha has made it clear that he does not want to leave Atletico before the deadline.

The Brazilian joined the Spanish side from Hertha last summer. He registered seven goals and eight assists from 38 games.

Cunha achieved those statistics while playing just 35 minutes per game.

Despite his limited game time, he does not appear keen on the prospect of leaving the Spanish capital to join the Mancunian giants.

The news will come as a big blow for the Red Devils, who are determined to sign a versatile forward before the transfer window closes.

There have been claims that they could revive their interest in Ajax's Antony, but a deal seems unlikely unless they meet the €100m price tag.
