Chelsea agree personal terms with Fofana

Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana ahead of a potential transfer.

The Blues are determined to land the services of the 21-year-old, and talks are underway with the Foxes to finalise a fee.

Their opening bid of £70m was rejected and a second proposal of £72m plus £8m in add-ons has been turned down.

The Foxes are clear that they want £85m upfront for the player, and the Blues may need to meet the price in the coming days.

Amidst this, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Blues have agreed personal terms over a six-year deal with Fofana.

The Frenchman is eager to join the Blues before the September 1 transfer deadline, but he is unlikely to force through an exit.

Fofana only signed a five-year contract earlier in March, and the Foxes feel obliged to keep him at the club for one more season.

The next few days should give a clear idea whether the Blues are prepared to meet the transfer valuation set by the Midlands side.
