Newcastle United confirm club-record signing of Alexander Isak

Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak for a club-record £63 million fee.

The Magpies have made a bright start to the current campaign, and they have now landed a top-class striker with potential.

Isak did not have the best of seasons with his club last term, but he was exceptional for Sweden at the Euros last summer.

Hence, there are no surprises that Sociedad were holding out for a big fee and the Magpies have obliged to meet the valuation.

The Tyneside outfit have made a big statement with the huge outlay, and it remains to be seen whether Isak can prove himself.

Isak has yet to score over 20 goals in a single league campaign, and the pressure is on him to reach those heights with Eddie Howe's side.

The 22-year-old will need time to develop, but has the attributes to suit the Premier League. He could be a superb long-term signing.
