Chelsea agree deal to sign Wesley Fofana

Fofana on his way to the Blues

Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement with Leicester City to sign defender Wesley Fofana, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues started negotiations for the Frenchman at the beginning of the month, but multiple bids were rejected by the Foxes.

After weeks of discussions, the Foxes have reportedly accepted a package of £70 million plus add-ons for the 21-year-old star.

Fofana has been training with the Foxes' Under-21 side over the past few days and he will now travel to London to complete his transfer.

Leicester are currently the only Premier League club yet to make an outfield signing, but that should change in the coming days.

Bayer Leverkusen's Edmond Tapsoba has been identified as a potential candidate to replace Fofana before the transfer deadline.

Whether they can convince Leverkusen to sell him is a big question.

The Midlands outfit may need to spend at least £50m to sign the Burkina Faso international, who has also been on Chelsea's radar.
