Grant eyes more Chelsea time
Chelsea boss Avram Grant believes that you must give managers more time, and used Kevin Keegan´s time at Newcastle as an example of the success that can be built on patience.
"It shows sometimes you need to patient with a manager," said Grant. "The club were patient with Keegan and now they are playing good football and scoring a lot of goals. It will be a tough game.
"In England you admire power more than good thinking. I have a feeling that the person who is shouting more is more respectable sometimes. Not just managers.
"English football has changed since big players and managers have come here. There are good managers in England - Harry Redknapp is a great manager for me in many aspects.
"Not even two managers think the same. Wenger has his style, Sir Alex has his and I have my own way of thinking.
"Football is more simple than people think and sometimes we make it more complicated.
"I believe in a simple message and a quality message. The players understood very quickly and I enjoy working with them.
"But when you go from one way of doing things to another, it is not so easy because you need to be more open and that's what I asked the players to be - to be more open to other things.
"What I like most about Alex is when he believes in something he goes to the end even if everyone is against him.
"I remember when he started to build Manchester United with Paul Scholes and David Beckham and others, he also almost got sacked.
"But he continued with his belief and I admire that. It is not easy. A big man once said to me that if he was a politician he would not ask the people what they wanted because he knew what they needed and Alex is like that.
"Every big club started with a doubt. If you look at Wenger at Arsenal when he came and Manchester United in the beginning, every change sometimes take time.
"Manchester United were a big club before but they are bigger now because of what Alex has achieved."
