England star has no regrets of leaving Chelsea
England international Tammy Abraham has said that he has no regrets of leaving Chelsea during the 2021 summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old hardly played under manager Thomas Tuchel during the second half of the 2020/21 season, and this urged him to leave the Blues.
Arsenal were interested in landing his services, but they were beaten to his signature by Roma, who agreed to meet the Blues' demands.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Abraham admitted that leaving Chelsea was difficult, but he made the right decision to move to Serie A.
He added that he has come out of his comfort zone with the switch to the Giallorossi, and does not have any regrets over the choice.
He said: "Leaving Chelsea was difficult, it’s where I’d grown up from the age of seven."
"I didn’t know much about Italian football but it has helped me develop as a player and as a man.
"I’ve come out of my comfort zone and don’t have any regrets."
Abraham had a superb debut season with Roma last term. He bagged 29 goals and went on to win the Europa Conference League title.
He has netted two goals from eight outings this campaign. The Blues will have the option to re-sign him for €80 million next summer.
