Chelsea to swoop for Alejandro Balde?

Chelsea are being linked with a surprise move for Barcelona graduate Alejandro Balde, as per Fichajes.

The 18-year-old has had a superb breakthrough season at Barcelona, and he has already made five La Liga appearances.

Despite this, there is an uncertainty over his future as he will enter the final year of his contract at the end of the season.

The Catalan giants are hopeful of extending his stay, but the Blues are keeping a close eye on the player's situation.

According to Fichajes, the west London giants could make a £13 million bid for the young graduate in case of a contract impasse.

Chelsea currently have Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella as the left wing-back options. The latter joined only this summer.

If Balde were to join the Blues next year, it is highly likely that Chilwell will be shown the exit door by the club's hierarchy.

Chelsea plan to spend £260 million over the next two transfer windows.
