Hazard eyes more minutes before World Cup

Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard has acknowledged that he would like to play more for Real Madrid ahead of the World Cup.

The Belgian suffered numerous injuries during his first two seasons at Madrid, and he has since fallen down the pecking order.

Carlo Ancelotti hardly played him from the starting XI last term, and the situation has been similar in the early weeks of this season.

Hazard has managed just 159 minutes of playing time thus far, and he has now acknowledged that he faces a difficult situation.

While he continues to remain happy at Madrid, Hazard said that he would like maximum minutes before the World Cup in Qatar.

He said: "There have been difficult times because I want to play and I don't play."

"I feel good at Real Madrid, I just play less . And when I play, I play well. It's a delicate situation because I want to play more.

"I know what I can do when I play. I want to scratch the maximum number of minutes and get to the World Cup in shape."

Belgium have a relatively easy World Cup group involving Canada, Morocco and Croatia. They should make the round of 16.

The Red Devils are likely to face Spain or Germany in the first knockout round, and Hazard will have a key role to play for them.
