Manchester United have suffered a big blow with Cody Gakpo reportedly close to joining Leeds United this winter.

The Dutchman wanted to join the Red Devils this summer, and talks were also held with his representatives over the same.

However, they never made a concrete approach to sign him after spending a huge £86 million to land Antony from Ajax.

It is now reported by The Mirror that Gakpo could be on his way to Leeds after agreeing personal terms with the Yorkshire side.

Leeds want to be pro-active in the pursuit of the Netherlands star and they are now in talks with PSV over a deal worth £30m.

United boss Erik ten Hag is still interested in Gakpo, but a deal won't happen with the board unwilling to spend in January.

The hierarchy are quite clear that there are no funds this winter after spending a staggering £220m over the summer.

The club prefer to do their transfer business at the end of the campaign.
