Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez has been linked with a move to Anfield next summer, as Liverpool seek to find a new long term deep lying midfielder. It is understood that the 21-year-old Argentine starlet is ready to move to England, having only just arrived in Portugal from River Plate last summer.

Thiago Alcantara's future at Anfield is unclear, as Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp seeks a successor for the Spain international.

With two caps to his name already, the central midfielder is considered one of Argentina's best young prospects, and is highly rated by Portuguese giants Benfica.

Enzo emerged in his homeland playing for River Plate, before a successful loan spell to Defensa y Justicia. The midfielder played 40 times for River, scoring 10 goals.

Liverpool are struggling so far this campaign and Klopp has directed his future plans on a change in the midfield, with numerous names linked with potential moves including Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The Anfield side will have around £100 million to spend on new faces this January, as well as a further £80 million next summer.
