Gianluca Di Marzio backs Man Utd to sign Dutch sensation

Manchester United have been backed to sign PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo when the transfer window reopens this winter.

The Red Devils had earmarked Gakpo as one of their main summer targets, but they ran out of budget to land his services.

Gakpo has since confirmed that United wanted to sign him, and Di Marzio believes they could return at the turn of the year.

Speaking to German outlet Wettfreunde, Di Marzio said that Gakpo would suit the Premier League with his intensity and quality.

He added that one of United, Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur would be the right project for the Dutchman, who is entering his prime.

Gakpo has been in splendid form during the current campaign. He has amassed 13 goals and 11 assists for PSV from 18 matches.

This has increased his transfer valuation and it could further go up if he goes on to shine for the Netherlands at the World Cup this winter.

Gakpo has been widely fancied to leave PSV in January.
