Arsenal fancied to agree deal for Dutch attacker

Cody Gakpo news

Gakpo to Arsenal this winter?

Arsenal have been fancied to make a January move for PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo.

The Gunners have exceeded expectations during the early part of the season and they are currently four points clear at the top of the standings.

The sparkling form could urge the hierarchy to spend in January and Gianluca Di Marzio thinks the Gunners could be a suitable club for Gakpo.

Gakpo has been in extraordinary form this campaign. He has accumulated 13 goals and 11 assists from just 18 matches across all competitions.

The 23-year-old was initially touted to leave PSV over the summer, but he was convinced by manager Ruud van Nisterooy to stay until the World Cup.

Hence, he is widely expected to move on at the turn of the year, but PSV won't let him go for cheap. They wanted as much as €50m last summer.

It is likely that the valuation will rise further. They could possibly demand in the region of €70m for Gakpo, who can play anywhere in attack.
