Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix has been fancied to replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United this winter.

The Portuguese refused to come on as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur and he ended up leaving the dugout before full time.

As a result, he has been suspended for tomorrow's game against Chelsea and there are doubts whether he will play again for United.

Felix's relationship with Atletico boss Diego Simeone has deteriorated in recent weeks amid his lack of regular playing time.

He is said to be pushing for a mid-season exit and Mendes feels United would be interested in him after a failed summer move.

Atletico are still set to demand a significant transfer fee. United could look to sign him on loan with an obligation to buy next summer.
