David de Gea stars for Man Utd against West Ham

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea produced a stellar display as the club secured a 1-0 Premier League win over West Ham United.

The Red Devils were by far the better team in the opening half and they found the back of the net in the 38th minute through Marcus Rashford.

However, the club were unable to double their advantage after the interval and eventually needed the help of De Gea in goal to secure the win.

De Gea made three stunning saves in the closing stages of the encounter which ensured that United went within one point off the top four.

The Red Devils will now be aiming to go into the winter break on a high note. They have two more league games against Aston Villa and Fulham.

In between those, however, the club have a crucial Europa League outing at Real Sociedad to decide whether they can be the group leaders.

There is also a Carabao Cup third round tie against Aston Villa.
