Arsenal enter contract talks with key defender

William Saliba news

Saliba contract talks underway at Arsenal

Arsenal have entered contract talks with William Saliba, according to The Athletic.

The Frenchman had to wait for three seasons to make his Gunners debut, but he is now an undisputed starter for the club.

Saliba has completed 90 minutes in every league outing and it is now reported that the club want to extend his contract length.

His current deal is due to expire at the end of the campaign, but the club have the option to keep him for another 12 months.

While the clause should be triggered soon, the hierarchy ideally want to end speculation over his future with a fresh renewal.

Saliba has yet to make a decision regarding the same, but the Gunners board are growingly optimistic of keeping him at the club.

Apart from Saliba, the Gunners have a similar situation with Bukayo Saka, but it's a matter of time before the graduate signs a new deal.

Gabriel Martinelli's contract also expires in the summer of 2024, but the club have the option to keep him for another two seasons.
