Erik ten Hag explains reason behind Antony absence
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Antony missed the West Ham United clash with a minor injury.
The Brazil international has been an ever-present figure in the starting line-up for Ten Hag since his arrival from Ajax this summer.
However, he was absent against the Hammers earlier today. Speaking after the game, Ten Hag clarified that the winger was injured.
He told Sky Sports: "He is injured, and I hope it’s not too bad. I think it’s not too bad. In a couple of days, he will be back."
The Red Devils returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a hard-fought 1-0 win over David Moyes' side at home.
With the victory, they have moved within one point off fourth-placed Newcastle United, having played one match less.
They have a crucial Europa League outing against Real Sociedad on Thursday. Hopefully, Antony will be fit for the encounter.
United must beat Sociedad by two clear goals to finish top of Group E.
