Facundo Torres on Arsenal radar

Arsenal have expressed an interest in signing Orlando City winger Facundo Torres during the winter transfer window.

The Gunners currently have Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka as the undisputed wingers under manager Mikel Arteta.

There is decent back-up in the form of Reiss Nelson and Marquinhos, but the club could be eyeing another signing in January.

According to Standard Sport, the north London side are plotting a move for Torres, who has 23 goal contributions this year.

The Uruguayan only joined the MLS outfit from Penarol in January, but he is already attracting plenty of European interest.

Arsenal are favourites to sign him at the moment and they are due to meet with the attacker's representatives in London soon.

Torres scored in the 3-1 pre-season friendly loss to the Gunners earlier this summer and Mikel Arteta should have an idea about him.

He was signed from Penarol for around £6m and Orlando are expected to demand at least £10m to sanction his winter exit.
