Man Utd want to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk?

Mudryk on Man Utd radar

Manchester United have joined Arsenal in the race to sign highly-rated Ukrainian winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Shakhtar Donetsk star was on the Gunners radar during the last transfer window, but they were put off by the £45m price tag.

Mudryk has since had a superb season with eight goals and eight assists and Shakhtar have now increased their valuation to £60m.

According to The Sun, United have been keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old under the recommendation of manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag has been an admirer of his talents since his Ajax days, but United are unlikely to spend on his services at the start of the year.

After spending around £220m on signings last summer, the hierarchy have no plans of making a huge outlay on arrivals this winter.

They are prepared to make low-cost purchases such as a back-up striker and a right-back, but have no plans of spending huge transfer fees.

This could benefit Arsenal, who are looking to bolster their attack in January in order to stay ahead of Manchester City in the title race.
