Arsenal ready to sign William Carvalho?
Arsenal are prepared to revive their long-term interest in signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, according to Fichajes.
The north London giants have been long linked with the Portugal international, but they have not been close to signing him.
It is now reported that the 30-year-old could head for the exit door with Betis in need of funds to spend in the New Year.
The Gunners are one of the top Premier League sides interested in him. Newcastle United and Leicester City are also keen.
Carvalho is expected to make a decision over his future after the World Cup.
Mikel Arteta will be hoping that the Portuguese can be lured to the Gunners, though he may not have guaranteed playing time.
Carvalho would have to play second fiddle to Thomas Partey in the defensive midfield role if he were to join the north London side.
On the other hand, he could be a starter for the Magpies or the Foxes.
