Chelsea enter talks to sign Inter Milan defender

Chelsea have reportedly opened talks with the agents of Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar over a free transfer.

The Slovakian will enter the final six months of his deal in January and he has yet to be convinced over a renewal.

This has apparently caught the eye of Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, and the latter are in contact with his agency.

The Blues spent big on their defence during the summer, but there is still room for improvement at the heart of the backline.

Kalidou Koulibaly has struggled to adapt to the league's intensity and the Blues may look to replace him next summer.

Skriniar has emerged as a fresh target for the Blues, but it may not be easy to negotiate a pre-contract for next campaign.

Paris Saint-Germain are also strong admirers of the former Sampdoria man while Inter have not given up on keeping him.

Skriniar has spent most of his career in the Italian top-flight and there are suggestions that he could eventually stay put.
