Chelsea pushing to sign former Arsenal midfielder?
Chelsea are apparently interested in signing former Arsenal midfielder Ismael Bennacer from AC Milan.
The Blues signed Denis Zakaria on loan from Juventus last summer, but he has yet to make his Premier League debut.
Graham Potter is said to be unconvinced over his abilities and there are suggestions that his deal could be terminated in January.
Amidst this, Calciomercato claim that the Blues have made contact with the agent of Bennacer over a potential transfer this winter.
Bennacer is about to enter the final 18 months of his Milan deal and he reportedly has no plans of penning a new contract.
Milan have offered him around €60,000-a-week while he could easily earn double with a move to the Premier League next year.
Chelsea are leading the hunt to sign the 25-year-old in January, but there could be competition in the form of Manchester United.
Arsenal could also enter the race. The Gunners are open to re-signing their former graduate as cover for the injury-prone Thomas Partey.
