Man Utd identify replacement for David de Gea
Manchester United are ready to replace David de Gea with Yann Sommer at the end of the current campaign.
De Gea has been a mainstay for United in goal for the past 11 years, but he could head for the exit door next summer.
His current deal expires at the end of the season and Bild claim that the club have no plans of extending his stay longer.
It is added that initial talks were held with Sommer last summer and the Swiss could be De Gea's replacement next season.
Sommer has been a key player for Borussia Monchengladbach but he will be a free-agent when his contract expires in June.
The 33-year-old has reportedly been assured the number one role at Old Trafford next season with De Gea set to depart.
United are likely to go on another spending spree next summer. They could sign a marquee striker and a central midfielder.
A free transfer for Sommer would free up funds for those signings.
