Arsenal star set to reject Barcelona for new contract

Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli is set to reject Barcelona by penning a new long-term contract, Sport claim.

The Brazil international has been in superb form for the Gunners this term, registering five goals and two assists from 14 league games.

His form has caught the eye of Barcelona, but this is unlikely to stop him from penning an improved deal with the north London club.

Martinelli currently earns around £90,000-a-week at Arsenal and he is set to double his wages with a new contract until June 2027.

His present deal does not expire until the summer of 2026, but the Gunners are prepared to reward him for his impressive progress.

Aside from Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba are also expected to be handed bumper contract deals in the coming weeks.

Saka could reportedly earn close to £250,000-a-week with a renewal while Saliba could receive in the region of £150,000 weekly.

Arsenal will be back in Premier League action against West Ham United. They face their London rivals at the Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day.
