Newcastle United want to sign Chelsea midfielder in January
Newcastle United are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Jorginho during the January transfer window, according to The Mail.
The Italian is set to enter the final six months of his Blues contract and there has been no progress whatsoever over a renewal.
Hence, he will be free to speak with foreign clubs in January, but the Blues could also be tempted to cash in on his services.
It is now reported by The Mail that Jorginho is a prime target for Magpies boss Eddie Howe to bolster his midfield in January.
Newcastle have had a tremendous first half to the Premier League season and they are currently second in the standings behind Arsenal.
A title challenge could be a tall order for the Magpies but they have a genuine chance of qualifying for the Champions League.
Hence, the hierarchy are prepared to back with funds. Chelsea's resolve for Jorginho could be tested with a £25 million bid.
