Chelsea and Man Utd pressing to sign Denzel Dumfries
Chelsea and Manchester United are pressing to sign Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries during the January transfer window.
The Netherlands international has been long linked with a Premier League move and there has been no end to the speculation.
It is now reported by Gazzetta dello Sport that Chelsea and United are leading the race for Dumfries and could sign him in January itself.
The Nerazzurri were initially hoping to keep the Dutchman until the summer but are now prepared to cash in on him next month.
Bayern Munich's Noussair Mazraoui has been identified as a potential replacement for Dumfries if he leaves the club.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan are eyeing €60 million to part ways with Dumfries but could accept a lesser fee of around €50m up front.
Both Chelsea and United are firm admirers, but the former may have a bigger reason to sign him after Reece James' latest injury.
James suffered a fresh injury against Bournemouth today. The England star could now be on the sidelines for a number of weeks.
