Chelsea make contract U-turn on NGolo Kante?
Chelsea are optimistic of convincing N'Golo Kante to sign a new long-term contract, according to The Athletic.
The Frenchman has had a difficult season with the Blues and he has not played since August due to a hamstring injury.
The midfielder is currently out until March due to the same, but there has been continued speculation over his future.
Al Nassr were recently linked with his services, but The Athletic report that the Blues are confident of keeping him.
Kante is set to enter the final six months of his deal in January, but the Blues have now opened talks over a renewal.
The World Cup winner was previously eyeing a three-year contract, but the Blues were reluctant to offer more than two.
There could be a compromise regarding the same in the coming weeks while Kante may not be asked to accept a pay-cut.
Aside from Kante, Chelsea are also working on a renewal for Jorginho, who has been instrumental to their recent success.
