Manchester United clear favourites to sign French striker

Manchester United are now clear favourites to sign Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram this month.

The Red Devils are keen on pursuing a new striker during the current transfer window after parting ways with Cristiano Ronaldo.

They have been keeping tabs on Thuram for a while and La Repubblica cite that they are now in the driving seat to land his signature.

The Frenchman has been in fabulous form for his club this term, registering 13 goal and four assists from only 17 outings in all competitions.

The 25-year-old is available for just €15m with his contract expiring next summer and United should have no reason to not sign him.

He would be a terrific cost-cut signing this month and would provide the club with the much-needed goalscoring threat in the box.

Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are primarily wingers by trade and Thuram could perfectly fit in as the main striker for United.

United should secure his services before their pivotal Premier League games against Manchester City and Arsenal in the coming weeks.
