West Ham bid for Azzedine Ounahi

Azzedine Ounahi on Hammers' radar

West Ham have made a bid for midfielder Azzedine Ounahi from Angers, in a transfer package worth a reported 7.5 million euros. Hammers manager David Moyes remains under pressure after a run of defeats in the Premier League, with the Scotsman looking to sign midfield reinforcements ahead of the second half of the Premier League season.

Ounahi was a member of Morocco's team in the World Cup that reached the semi-finals, and Ounahi in particular caught the eye with a number of positive displays at the heart of the African side's starting XI. It is understood that the Hammers will need to beat German side RB Leipzig in the race to sign the 22-year-old, as well as Premier League rivals Southampton who have deployed a scout to watch the former Strasbourg and Avranches player in action.

With two weeks remaining of the transfer window, West Ham need to move swiftly to complete their business and remain confident that Ounahi will decide to move to England as opposed to Germany this winter.
