Manchester United flop Memphis Depay will make the switch to Atletico Madrid from Barcelona, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Dutch star has struggled for regular minutes at Camp Nou this term and he has now been permitted to join Atletico on a permanent deal.

The Madrid giants have agreed to pay around €4 million for the attacker. He is expected to put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half year contract.

Depay was also linked with a possible return to Old Trafford last month, but a transfer did not materialise as United only wanted him on loan.

The 28-year-old will now be aiming to revive his playing career. He should get regular first-team football at Atletico under manager Diego Simeone.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see whether the arrival of Depay has any impact on the future of Joao Felix during the summer transfer window.

Felix is currently on loan at Chelsea for the rest of the campaign. The Portuguese had fallen out with Simeone before his temporary exit.
