Tottenham to bid for Jan Oblak?

Jan Oblak set for White Hart Lane move?

Tottenham are in pole position to sign Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak as they seek a long-term alternative to Hugo Lloris. It is understood that Spurs are ready to pay close to 30 million euros to land the keeper, who could replace 36-year-old Lloris at the end of this season.

Underfire Lloris made a mistake in the key game against North London rivals Arsenal this season, but the Frenchman's form has dropped off in recent years and notably his failure to stop a penalty in the World Cup Final against Argentina has damaged his reputation. Lloris has previously won the World Cup with France, but was unable to add a second World Cup medal in Qatar.

Slovenian international Jan Oblak is seen as one of the best shot stoppers in the world, and Atleti will do everything to persuade the 30-year-old to stay put. However, the interest from the Premier League is sure to entice Oblak, who has previously hinted that he would like to wrap up his career in England.
