Chelsea planning Denzel Dumfries raid?
Chelsea are reportedly pushing to sign Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries before the January transfer window closes.
The west London giants have been long-term admirers of the Netherlands international and they are now determined to land him.
An opening proposal of around €35 million has already been made to Inter, but it is reported that they are eyeing close to €55 million.
Meanwhile, Dumfries' agent has now travelled to London to discuss with Premier League clubs. The Blues are set to contact him.
The hierarchy plan to negotiate personal terms with the player first before making a renewed transfer proposal to the Nerazzurri.
Dumfries is seen as a potential competitor to Reece James, who has suffered a couple of knee injuries already in the current season.
Graham Potter does not want to rush James back to action after the recent setback and Dumfries could be an ideal squad addition.
The Dutch star has impressed with his attacking playing style and could be a shrewd signing for the Blues as they seek to climb up the table.
Chelsea are currently lying 10th in the Premier League table. They are already a staggering 21 points behind Arsenal for the top spot.
