Arsenal confirm their second January signing
Arsenal have confirmed their second signing of the January transfer window with defender Jakub Kiwior arriving from Spezia.
The 22-year-old has had a fascinating season in the Serie A and he was also impressive for Poland during the recent World Cup.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta initially made contact with the centre-back in December and the club have now sealed an agreement.
The north London giants have agreed to pay around £20m to Spezia for the young Pole, who can also feature in the centre of the park.
Kiwior has played as a defensive midfielder on more than 20 occasions for Spezia and he could also be deployed in the position if at all required.
For now, he could be seen as a competitor and back-up option to Gabriel Magalhaes, considering he is a left-footed central defender by trade.
Kiwior becomes the club's second signing of the January transfer window after the recent arrival of Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion.
