Man Utd handed big boost for Carabao Cup final
Manchester United have been handed a big boost for the Carabao Cup final following the suspension for Newcastle United's Nick Pope.
The Red Devils face the Magpies in the competition's final next weekend and ahead of the game, they have been handed a huge boost.
Pope picked up a straight red card against Liverpool earlier today and as a result, he will be suspended for the Wembley showdown.
Meanwhile, Magpies' back-up keeper Martin Dubravka is also ineligible to play. He is cup-tied after already featuring for United in the League Cup.
Hence, the Magpies will be forced to resort to Loris Karius in goal. The German has not played any competitive football in more than 18 months.
He was only signed by the Tyneside outfit as a reserve option, but could now make his debut for the club in a major competition final.
Hence, United have been handed a major boost. They should be favourites to win the final and end their six-year trophy drought.
