Liverpool and Man Utd battling to sign Chelsea playmaker?

Liverpool and Manchester United are set to compete for the services of Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount this summer.

The England international has been a mainstay for the Blues since his debut in 2019, but he is currently considering his options.

Mount has declined the terms over a new deal and he is likely to be sold when he enters the final year of his contract this summer.

The Blues would ideally prefer to lose the midfielder to an overseas club, but as things stand, he could join another English rival.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of his talents and talks are already underway with his representatives over a summer move.

However, the Reds will face competition from United, who have identified Mount as a cheaper alternative to Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham.

Mount was valued in the region of £75 million last summer but could be available for a lesser price of £50m in the next transfer window.
