Newcastle boss wants to land Man Utd midfielder
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is determined to land Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this summer.
The Scot was heavily linked with a winter move to the Magpies but the Red Devils were not keen on doing business with them.
United considered them as their top-four rivals but their stance could soften this summer as they look to recoup transfer funds.
According to The Telegraph, Howe is a huge admirer of the 26-year-old and has been monitoring him over the past 12 months or so.
He is ready to guarantee him with the number six role at the club and it is added that the midfielder would welcome the transfer.
However, a move won't be straightforward, considering United are expected to demand a fee in upwards of £40m for their graduate.
The Magpies are now direct contenders for Champions League football and they can't expect any discount for top players hereafter.
The club are also keen on landing Arsenal star Kieran Tierney.
