Chelsea are ready to break their transfer record to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, as per Il Mattino.

The west London giants have had a dreadful Premier League campaign and they are currently 11th in the standings.

They look set to miss out on Champions League football but the owners are still expected to spend big in the summer.

A new striker is one of the top priorities for manager Graham Potter and the Blues could break their transfer record for Osimhen.

The Nigerian has been in stunning form for Napoli, bagging 25 goals and five assists from 30 appearances in all competitions.

He has already acknowledged his ambition to play in the Premier League and Chelsea are ready to prise him away from Napoli.

The Blues are likely to meet the reported £132 million asking price set by the Naples outfit and could pay part of the fee up front.

Chelsea's main competition for the player could be Manchester United, though their investment depends on a takeover.
