Chelsea sack Graham Potter after six months
Chelsea have confirmed that they have parted ways with Graham Potter following their 2-0 Premier League loss to Aston Villa.
The west London giants have had a poor league campaign and they are currently 11th in the standings with 38 points after 28 games.
Potter has been under pressure for a number of weeks and the Blues have now decided to dismiss him from the head coach position.
A statement on their website read: "Chelsea FC has announced that Graham Potter has departed the club. Graham has agreed to collaborate with the Club to facilitate a smooth transition."
Bruno Saltor has been placed on interim charge for the rest of the campaign and Chelsea will be aiming to climb up the league table.
Meanwhile, the club still have something to play for in the Champions League where they face Real Madrid in the quarter-final stage.
They are huge underdogs for the last eight tie and it would come as a shock if they manage to beat Madrid and make the final four.
