Arsenal open contract talks with young winger
Arsenal have opened contract talks with Reiss Nelson whose deal expires at the end of the campaign.
The Englishman has played limited minutes for the Gunners this term, but he has been hugely effective.
He scored a brace and provided an assist in the 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest in October last year.
Against Bournemouth in March, he registered another assist before a dramatic 97th-minute winner.
Hence, he is already a favourite among the fans and the Gunners are now keen to keep him at the club.
Nelson's contract expires in June but manager Mikel Arteta has urged the board to finalise a new deal.
It will be interesting to see whether Nelson accepts the proposal, considering his reduced first-team role.
The 23-year-old is unlikely to become a regular starter at the Gunners but could do so at another outfit.
He has a big decision to make over his future. Arsenal have proposed to extend his stay for three years.
