Chelsea defender pens new long-term deal
Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has ended speculation over his future by signing a new long-term contract.
The England international has been a regular starter for the Blues when fit and he has now prolonged his stay.
His previous deal was due to expire in June 2025 and he has now signed a new contract until the summer of 2027.
This is expected to end the gossip surrounding his future.
Chilwell has been a long-term target for Manchester City and they initially tried to sign him from Leicester City.
It was reported that they could return for him in the summer but the latest renewal has ended their prospects.
The Premier League holders are still expected to invest on another left-back.
Nathan Ake has played from the position this term but there is no real back-up in the squad at the current point.
Joao Cancelo fell out with Pep Guardiola before joining Bayern on loan in January. He is expected to be sold.
